Some great SOA – articles

I am preparing a talk on SOA. That always scares me since it’s such a big topic. Who among us would want to answer the question “What is SOA?”

OK – in my preparations I found some great resources.

Hi Marcus.

I'm glad you like my SOA article. However I would be letting you down if I didn't also direct you towards my colleague Jim Webber, who invented the term Guerrilla SOA.

He has a sensible, pragmatic and lightweight approach to implementing SOA using nothing more complex than HTTP. Not a WS-* standard in sight!

Also, take a look at this keynote talk, where he and Martin Fowler debunk the idea of the Enterprise Service Bus: http://www.infoq.com/presentations/soa-without-esb

Ooops - haven't answered this.

Thank you Dan for your answere and a great tip. I saw the interview last week and the thoughts he present really appealed to me.

I like the whole "start small"-approach. Actually it's the best tip I would give any project; "Do go big. Stay small!"

So - if you haven't seen the presentations that Dan North refers too, please do. They are great.
